Cash And Prize Surveys and Quizzes

This zone of quiz-winner is a bit different to the rest of the site. The rest of the site is purely about quizzes, quiz websites, quiz questions and answers and so on.

This section does have a connection to quizzes (tenuous at times to be fair which is why it is separate!) in that we are looking at sites that want you to answer questions normally as part of some sort of consumer style survey -

1. Where you answer questions about you and your habits, likes and dislikes.
2. Some are quite "quizzy" in approach but most are outand out consumer surveys in one form or another.
3. All of them want your answers for, at some level or other -
   1. Market research for product research and launches
   2. Or existing product marketing so that their clients can post stuff to you or email you offers from them.

Surveys are big business - There is a LOT of money involved. Companies like Experian and Acxiom who collect, manage and sell consumer opinions and data are 1 BILLION $$ companies.

The really good part about this for YOU is that if when know what you're doing YOU can get money out of it too - Think about it. Big companies invest millions when they launch a new product and most of them kind of think it's a good idea to check to see if people like the stuff before they roll it out to the world!

Part of research is stuff like focus groups and fancy data modelling - But a massive part of it is going out there and getting survey companies to pop their questions to their survey takers - that can be over the phone, forms in the post or online, in many cases all 3. And they're willing to pay for your feedback too.

Types of Cash Surveys 

The following 2 sections have sub sections split between UK and USA. I hope to add other areas later.

Competitions and prize draw surveys

• Some survey companies entice you in with competitions and prize draws.
• This is OK as there are loads of them and any reputable company WILL give the prizes out - they are required by law to do so and have to prove that they have.
• But it does not equate to cash unless you're lucky enough to win and that it not very likely to be honest. But if you've nothing better to do give it a go and do loads of them.
• The best type to go for are competitions -by definition this means there is some sort of quiz challenge involved. It may be (likely to be) very simple but it does filter out the truly lax and so cut the odds a bit.

Real Cash Surveys or "in kind" - Your Opinions Paid for 

• Real hard cash is not as easy to get as many websites will have you believe but it IS possible to get paid for your answers on surveys.
• You will need to put some time in to sign up for them and do their intro profile surveys so that they can match you up with their clients needs.
• Buy once you do...and once you've submitted your personality(ies ;-) it can deliver up a steady stream of extra cash (you ain't gonna get rich but it can pay bills or debts)
• One survey type that is increasingly common I'm pleased to say is the voucher reward survey. You do surveys and earn the cash equivalents in vouchers to spend at a wide range of shops. Great if you're going to shop at those places anyway.
  

Privacy and what you need to do to be safe

In the UK I'd say don't give any info to the government, they'll probably just lose it ;-)

1. And check out the privacy or Data Protection statements they give (if there are none steer clear)
2. Make sure you know what your answers will be used for and if you don't like it don't do it.
3. If you're unsure contact the company by phone or email and ask. If no reply = no good.
4. Check them out online too - is it a proper company with a proper (not PO box) address?
5. Make sure you check before you send your reply that you are happy with what your information will be used for.
   • In UK in order to email you afterwards with info there should be a box that YOU tick to say you WANT them to send you stuff. Not one that you tick to say don't send me stuff.
   • In either case I suggest setting up an email address for surveys only so you can track anyone who send when they should not.
   • When you get involved with good solid paid for survey companies you should set an email address up just for that company to send to you on e.g., surveycompany1@myemailaddresshere.com - this way you can be sure to get only their emails on it and not lose important and possible money earning emails in junk filters.

Surveys not to do EVER

1. Anything where you have to call a premium rate number.
2. If you're unsure check the small print wherever it is you've found it. If there IS no small print then definitely steer clear!
3. Any website that has no privacy policy or very fuzzy about what your info will be used for.
4. Any questions asking for info like bank account numbers, passport details, driver license etc - Think ID Fraud and steer clear. better still, note the details down and send to the Police or Data Protection people.
